Our Programmes

The London Development Centre has 4 key work programmes:

• The National Institute for Mental Health in England (NIMHE)  
• Social Care
• Children, Young People, Families & Maternity Services
• Health & Social Care in the Criminal Justice System

In addition we take forward work programmes addressing specific cross- cutting themes such as:  commissioning, personalisation and Local Area Agreements.

Our focus is on delivering regional health and social care initiatives and implementing national programmes and policies:  all for the benefit of the people of London -  a big challenge when you consider that:

• 29% of Londoners come from 90 different minority ethnic groups
• There is greater migration in and out of London than anywhere else in England
• Londonhas the highest proportion of young people in its population

The London Development Centre leads on the National Equalities programme, covering race, age and gender, on behalf of the Care Services Improvement Partnership.
