Improving Access to Psychological Therapies

The Improving Access to Psychological Therpiaes (IAPT) team in Working for Wellness is the regional implementation arm for the national programme improving access to psychological therapies.

The programme supports Commissioners to commission, develop and sustain services that are NICE compliant allowing London’s population to have better access to evidence based talking therapies for common mental health problems.

IAPT offers Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) value for money whilst improving the health and quality of life for London residents.

Around one in four people in England experience some type of mental health issue during their lifetime. Poor mental health can have a huge effect on people’s well-being, affecting family life, personal relationships and ability to work.
