London Joint Improvement Partnership (JIP)
Membership of the London JIP covers all the main agencies involved in health and social care improvement in London.
The purpose of the JIP is to improve social care outcomes by promoting and supporting whole system improvement and integrated working across social care services in London.
The JIP will establish a close working relationship and agreed governance arrangements with the London Regional Improvement & Efficiency Partnership (RIEP).
The key activities of the JIP are to:
- support local authorities to deliver better outcomes for people, their carers and theirsupporters
- generate improvement against agreed national and regional priorities
- ensure the production of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
- work towards a regional workforce development strategy to underpin change in service delivery
- share information, learning and skills
- agree and support collaborative project work involving partner organisations
- link social care improvement priorities with those of the NHS regionally.
Five key themes have been identified as the centerpiece of the Partnership’s early work:
- Strategic commissioning
- Personalisation and early intervention
- The improvement agenda
- Leadership and workforce development
- Efficiency, capacity and the effective use of resources
The benefits which the JIP will bring will be:
- a strategic approach to improvement activity
- greater focus on and ability to respond to regional issues and needs
- an integrated menu of available support
- a proactive whole systems approach, including workforce development
- more effective working across partner agencies
better targeting and more efficient use of improvement resources.
