Health of Children in Care

Everyone working with looked after children has a role to play in promoting their health and well-being. In November 2009 DCSF and DH published Statutory guidance on promoting the health and well-being of Looked after Children to guide local authorities, PCTs and SHAs in meeting their duties.

NCB has recently been organising a series of free regional conferences on behalf of DCSF and DH to support the implementation of the guidance. These events are essential for those with strategic, commissioning and operational responsibility for looked after children’s health and well-being, and help to understand the guidance and how they can implement it.
