PALLIATIVE CARE

The national palliative care strategy, Better Care, Better Lives was published in June 2008. The strategy aims to improve outcomes and experiences for children, young people and their families living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Alongside the strategy, the Department of Health also announced a £20 million boost in palliative care funding to be made available over two years from 2009 to 2011.

The London Development Centre is working with the Pan-London Children's Palliative Care Network to improve commissioning of palliative care services in London.
