Children's Emotional Health and Wellbeing

  • This work supports the delivery of PSA 12, which outlines the need to improve children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing, recognising the specific  contribution of services that improve children’s mental health.  The programme also supports the target to implement fully the Children’s NSF by 2014, and in particular Standard Nine of the NSF.  Our work is aimed at delivering the Every Child Matters agenda, and the psychological contribution to the ‘Be Healthy’ outcome in particular.
  • There are several elements to the programme, which includes links to other CSIP programmes such as the implementation of the Mental Health Act in relation to young people and Delivering Race Equality (DRE), particularly into the commissioning of services.  Our programme works directly with the chairs of the 31 local CAMHS partnerships, and with the mental health trusts in London, providing a service to local stakeholders. In addition, the programme has the following themed work streams:
    • CAMHS Service Improvement
    • Learning Disabilities
    • Workforce and Training
    • Participation
    • Commissioning and Tier 4
    • Schools work and Mental Health Promotion
    • Youth Justice
    • Cultural Competence and BME
    • Children and Young People and the Mental Health Act
    • Health of Children in Care
