The LDC team works with providers, commissioners and other organisations involved in the delivery of health and social care including the Department of Health, the NHS, local government, and Government Office. We promote and support service improvement, innovation and partnership working.  See our Partnership and Stakeholder wheel below to find out more about who we work with.

We are funded primarily by the Strategic Health Authority for London (NHS London) and the Department of Health.  We are accountable to NHS London through the Office of the Regional Director of Public Health.

We coordinate our work with that of the seven other regional development centres in England which together form the Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP).

The work of LDC, in line with the remit of CSIP nationally, is to support the delivery of policy priorities at a national, regional and local level to bring about improvements in health and well-being for the people of London.

CSIP LDC works in partnership with DH, the NHS, Local Government, Government Offices and others to promote and support service improvement, innovation and partnership working through:

  • Supporting policy implementation by helping organisations to translate policy into practice;
  • Developing the capacity and capability of organisations to achieve improvements in delivery;
  • Supporting the development of policy
